Passive Monitoring

Industry standard for use in passive monitoring applications because of its power and data sample rate efficiencies.

Uses a bat detector in a fixed location as a data logger, to record bat calls without human intervention. Could be used for one night, a week, months or years.

AnaBat’s™ low power consumption and low data rate are ideal for long term use and make it possible to download recorded data each day over the cellular network and view.

Passive monitoring is ideal for:

• Temporal emphasis - when do bats use a small sampled space
• Longer term sampling copes with typically high temporal variability of bat activity
• Multiple sites can be sampled to compare habitats
• Potentially massive sampling effort - enhances probability of detecting:
