Ecosystem managementEcosystem management

One of the unfortunate consequences of man introducing non native animal species into a new environment is the risk of imbalance to the local ecosystem. When this results in a threat to the precious native flora and fauna of a region, or when the non native species reproduce in such numbers as to even endanger themselves due to pestilence or starvation, it is sometimes necessary from the standpoint of greater conservation to cull these animals out and reduce their numbers.

Electronic tracking of one member of a herding species can lead to the group, facilitating the culling process. We custom manufacture telemetry equipment - including specially designed collars, battery packs, and transmitters - in addition to tracking receivers and antennae to aid in monitoring and locating these animals.

Each tracking system is built and packaged around the specific needs of the conservation management team. Titley Electronics works closely with the team to understand their requirements and recommend optimum solutions. Essentially any configuration for any size animal is possible.
