Met Tower 1000 (MT1)

The MT1 is a complete, solar powered, meteorological tower application that receives data from tower mounted sensors.

The incorporated mTech data recorder allows several options for remote control and data access via GSM and NextG Mobile (cell) phone services. The system can be set to deliver data ‘direct to web’ at regular intervals but the user can also dial into the logger to retrieve data, reconfigure settings or change SMS alarms.

The MT1 is considered one of the premier feature-packed towers in today’s industry, with several customisation options.

System Configuration & Features

• Vaisala WXT520 Weather Transmitter: includes sensors to measure wind speed, wind direction, rainfall, rain duration, rain intensity, barometric pressure, air temperature and relative humidity. Alternatively, the Vaisala WMT52 ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensor can be used.
• A wide range of sensors from other suppliers including cup anemometers and vane wind direction sensors. Most sensors with a serial or analog output can be used.
• mTech Data Recorder: accommodates up to 100 sensors. Will read three SDI-12 devices, has two counters and four voltage or current inputs.
• mTech Software: provides easy to use communication functions and data analysis. Data can also be transferred into most commonly used packages such as Excel
• Alarm functions via GSM short message service (SMS)
• Field Ready Unit (FRU): Includes IP66 weather proof enclosure, SAM10 Mobile Modem, solar panel, battery, regulator, antenna and mounting kit

Normally preformed cables with lightning suppression connect the sensors and data recorder on the mast. Other options such as local radio links can be offered.
