News & events 8 January 2008 Titley Electronics congratulates the Canberra Ocean Racing Club, who have won the PHS Division B in the 2007 Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. The Club’s Bavaria 44, Namadgi, carries a Titley RX3-DF EPIRB Direction Finder as part of their safety equipment. From the Skipper of Namadgi, "We treat safety as our highest priority on Namadgi and we carry the RX3 - RDF tracker on board to ensure that we have the very best chance of locating someone in the water who has activated their personal EPIRB." says skipper Rick Scott-Murphy, "to rely entirely on satellites or passing aircraft to locate a distress beacon signal ignores the simple fact that the boat nearest to the signal offers the best chance of survival providing they use an RX3 tracker".
7-10 May 2007 Titley Electronics will be attending and once again participating as a sponsor in the first ever South-East Asian Bat Conference in Phuket, Thailand. This conference will be May 7-10 at the Club Andaman Resort Beach Hotel, Patong, Phuket, Thailand. It will be jointly hosted by the Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University, Hat-Yai, Thailand; Texas Tech University, USA; and The Harrison Institute, U.K. For further information about the South-East Asian Bat Conference please contact: Associate Professor Chutamas Satasook, Prince of Songkla University at chutamas.p@psu.ac.th; Dr. Paul Bates, The Harrison Institute, hzm@btinternet.com; or Dr. Tigga Kingston, Texas Tech University, SEABatConference@hotmail.com. 18-21 October 2006 We are taking a similar sponsorship position at the upcoming North American Bat Symposium in Wilmington, NC. AnaBat will be visible as will the entire range of Titley Electronics wildlife tracking telemetry and antennae. Four company representatives will be present to answer questions and host one of the events at the symposium. 19-21 April 2006 Titley Electronics attended and proudly co-sponsored the Australasian Bat Conference in New Zealand earlier this year. Taking place at the University of Auckland April 19 - 21, we also donated an AnaBat SD1, valued over AUS $ 2,300, to the poster award winner. Chris Corben, designer of the AnaBat system, and one of the presenters, provided in-depth information on long term passive monitoring of bats, as well as a 'how to' primer on the PDA interface capabilities offered by the new SD1 for realtime spectral analysis of bat calls in active monitoring applications.
