Using long life lithium batteries these modest sized lightweight two stage transmitters employ advanced technology to provide the highest possible performance and reliability in telemetry tracking. The standard unit runs at 55pp and 20m/s. Its standard power output can be reduced to increase battery life when weight is an issue.
The unit has a microprocessor which can have a variety of functions such as hours on/off per day, weeks on/off etc. This feature is useful when increase in battery life is needed at a higher power level. The unit can vary the pulse rate when certain sensors are employed, such as movement, temperature and mortality. It can also indicate a low battery. These options can be further customised to suit individual needs.
All programmed units can be activated by touching with a suitable magnet. The standard units are activated by removing a magnet which is taped to the unit for shipping. Their compact size make these transmitters ideal for implants, and depending on battery size, suitable for fitting to some of the smallest creatures. Yet they will give power output equal to some of the largest transmitters available.
The GP1 Two Stage Transmitter is suitable for medium sized birds, mammals, large lizards, crocodiles and large mammals.
